A tweet thread: The Supremes weren’t rich, given what they earned in royalties from record sales. Yes they made up some of it from live performances, but exploitation of artists still happens.
We pay tribute to one of the brightest and best:
I just stumbled across this interview Mary Wilson did just 6 weeks ago.
I’m frankly speechless.
There weren’t just Black Women at the microphone, or filling out notes on sheet music. There were the legends that were instrumentalists, and that where we meet Jazz Pianist Beryl Booker.
